About Telugu Vyakaranam (తెలుగు వ్యాకరణం)
తెలుగు వ్యాకరణము పై సిద్ధాంత గ్రంథము నన్నయ్య సంస్కృతంలో ఆంధ్రశబ్దచింతామణి అనే పేరుతో వ్రాశారు. ఆ తరువాత అధర్వణ, ఆహోబల సూత్రాలు, వార్తికాలు, భాష్యాలు వ్రాశారు. 19వ శతాబ్దంలో చిన్నయసూరి సులభమైన తెలుగు వ్యాకరణంను బాలవ్యాకరణం అనే పేరుతో రాశారు. నన్నయ ప్రకారం నియమాలు లేని భాషను గ్రామ్యం లేక అపభ్రంశం కావున సాహిత్యానికి పనికిరాదనేవారు. కావున అప్పట్లో సాహిత్యమంతా వ్యాకరణానికి లోబడి వుండేది.
The first treatise on Telugu grammar (Telugu: వ్యాకరణం vyākaraṇam), the Andhra Sabda Chintamani (Telugu: ఆంధ్ర శబ్ద చింతామణి Āndhra śabda cintāmaṇi) was written in Sanskrit by Nannayya, who is considered the first poet (ādikavi) and grammarian of the Telugu language, in the 11th century CE. After Nannayya, Atharvana and Ahobala composed the sutras, the vartikas, and the bhashyam.
In the 19th century, Chinnaya Suri wrote a simplified work on Telugu grammar called Bāla Vyākaraṇam (lit. Children’s grammar), borrowing concepts and ideas from Nannayya, in Telugu.
According to Nannayya, a language without ‘Niyama’ or the language which does not adhere to Vyākaranam is called Grāmya (lit of the village) or Apabhraṃśa, is unfit for literary usage. All literary texts in Telugu follow the Vyākaraṇam.
